Richard Williamson, the manager who oversaw mobile mapping service for Apple, was fired from the company last week. In September Apple replaced Google maps with their own; the maps were widely criticized and caused Tim Cook, Apple's chief executive, to publicly apologized. "The firing of Williamson, which was first reported by Bloomberg News, follows a management shake-up at Apple in late October, when Cook fired Scott Forstall, the former head of Apple’s mobile software development," wrote the New York Times.
