We built Quartz with a focus on modern browsers, but are constantly working to improve the experience across devices.
qz.com utilizes a number of web technologies, such as DOM, CSS3, SVG, Messaging, Ajax, localStorage, Offline mode, and HTML5 transitions. Unfortunately, not all browsers support these technologies as well as others, but we’re working to find solutions that help our readers access our content where they want to.
In some cases we’ve held off on some emerging browser features as a result differing performance across browsers.
We have a list of browsers we do support. In some instances, we’ve opted to pare back functionality so that you can still read Quartz content, even when the full site may not be optimized for your device.

Mobile and tablet optimization raises additional complexities, with a growing combination of operating systems, browsers, screen sizes and even variations in hardware.
For the best Quartz experience, we recommend you run the latest available version of your mobile browser. Below is a list of mobile browsers and where we stand:

|Mobile Safari||–||iOS 7||Yes, see below|
|Android Browser||–||Android||Yes, see below|
|Google Chrome||33.0||iOS, Android||Yes|
|Internet Explorer Mobile||–||Windows Phone||No|
We support Mobile Safari on iPhone, iPod, and iPad from iOS 7 and on.
|Browser||Minimum Version (OS)||Supported|

Support for Android is tied closely to the OS and the default browser.
There are a number of emerging and popular alternative browsers (for example Dolphin) for Android. We currently do not test the site in many of them but are looking to improve this going forward.
