Bands from the 1980s. Political action committees. They have at least one thing in common: hilariously earnest names.

The quiz below will help you get to know the groups that are quietly spending millions of dollars to support candidates for US president. That, or you can reminisce about one-hit-wonders from the ’80s.

Political action committees (PACs) can spend unlimited amounts of money to support and oppose candidates. To avoid corporate influence over would-be political leaders, these committees are not supposed to have any direct contact with the candidates they’re supporting. But you’ll see that some groups have strong ties.

So… is it an ’80s band or a super PAC?
