Trump and Sanders are discussing a debate where they can ignore the woman who’s beating them both

By Hanna Kozlowska

Donald Trump thinks Bernie Sanders would be a “dream” to debate, and the Vermont senator says he’s more than willing to spar with the billionaire before the California primaries on June 7. Notably absent: The person who, as of this writing, has the best chance of becoming the next president of the United States.

To be fair, Hillary Clinton only holds a tiny lead against Trump in head-to-head polls, though her advantage is larger when the US electoral college is factored in.

“I’d love to debate Bernie. The problem is he’s going to lose,” Trump said. ”Honestly, his system is rigged just like our system is rigged … Bernie, unfortunately, hasn’t been able to knock out but the super delegates for the Democrats so — I mean, it’s so unfair.”

Trump suggested making the debate a fundraiser for “women’s health issues or something.”

Sanders campaign manager Jeff Weaver said: ”We are ready to debate Donald Trump. We hope he will not chicken out. I think it will be great for America to see these two candidates and the different visions they have for America going forward.”
