A rape survivor in the northern Indian state of Haryana says she has been assaulted again—by the same men.

The 21-year-old college student who was raped by five men in 2013, was abducted again last week. She was gang-raped and left to die in roadside bushes where she was found unconscious by a passerby, The Times of India reported.

The crime was allegedly committed by the same men, in retaliation for not withdrawing her earlier rape complaint.

After the girl’s assault in 2013, two of the five accused men were arrested, but then let off on bail.

“We had filed a case in court for the arrest of the remaining three and re-arrest of the two on bail. We were getting constant threats from the accused for an out-of-court settlement, but we remained firm,” the victim’s brother told The Times of India. The case is still pending.

The police have not made any arrest in the latest case.

Conviction rates for rape in India are abysmally low. In 2011, the conviction rate in rape cases was just around 26%, which was much lower than 44.3% in 1973 and 37.7% in 1983.
