At a press conference on Sept. 30, Philippines president Rodrigo Duterte compared himself to Hitler, saying he would ”be happy to slaughter” the country’s 3 million drug users.

Since his inauguration on June 30, more than 3,100 people—most of them alleged drug users and peddlers—have been killed in police operations and vigilante killings.

Duterte said that the US and EU have no place to criticize his country because of their “hypocrisy” in the Middle East. Watch the video above to see excerpts from Duterte’s speech.
