Tomorrow will be the last time (Nov. 23) President Obama pardons a turkey before Thanksgiving. While his predecessors mainly gave speeches and then posed for photo-ops with the lucky bird, Obama had added his own personal touch over the past seven years.

He has used the podium as a place to poke political fun and crack some dad jokes, while his two daughters Malia and Sasha are by his side. Obama has even come up with a gesture for when he bestows his presidentially-sanctioned relief to the bird.

Watch our video above to hear some of Obama’s jokes, and see the first kids grow up over the years.
