The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 2 cents per share.
The home health care services provider posted revenue of $478 million in the period, surpassing Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $450 million.
Aveanna expects full-year revenue in the range of $1.87 billion to $1.88 billion.
The company's shares closed at $1.49. A year ago, they were trading at $1.12.
