  • Anything that moves us closer to a system based on intelligence vs methods that just make people feel safer is a better use of our resources.

  • We always need to keep in mind the end objective of screening. What are we trying to protect against? What is the best way to do that? Screening as eyewash to mollify the masses who are not a threat to protect against a minimal or non-existent threat is ridiculous.

  • Pause before you write this idea off as crazy. Small airports switch to minimal passenger security screening. But those passengers go through full-scale TSA screening when they arrive at a connecting airport. Doesn’t this eliminate the weakest link?

  • How does this even make sense unless you only care about the money. The point is, what if they don’t make it to a larger airport because of an intentional act.

  • How about overhauling the entire system and making it rationale from a systemic perspective? That would be the best move of all.
