I have never yet been called an enemy of the American people. If it happens, I hope I keep my head and respond with the kind of wit that brings unexpected fruit from those kinds of personal attacks. But given that I have lost my temper at slights relatively more minor than being called a traitor by the President of the United States, let me say this:

We cannot pretend this isn’t personal and it does not advance our nation to do so. I am loathe to further the dividing of a country, our side and theirs, but as Lincoln so famously proved, there are times when such division is necessary in service of human dignity.

The press may well be at work and not at war. But do not castigate Acosta for losing his veneer of impartiality. The press has always been partial and they serve us best when they are as human as they are machine.

If you stand against a free press, against equal rights before the law, against a path to prosperity for all, then you stand against this country. That is the test we all must pass. So if you must, judge Acosta the reporter but recognize there is also Acosta the person. And sometimes, being human ought to come first.

  • This is a silly argument. Acosta asked the Press Secretary a simple question that she was unable to answer unequivocally. That should be the story - the fact that this administration can’t say that they respect the freedom of the press - instead of tut-tutting of a reporter for doing their job and defending their profession.

  • Maybe the left wing news is getting a taste of its own medicine and finding its not to their liking... finally. Now I know Trump isn't everyone's favourite and his twitter fingers need to be cut off but pretending that the media hasn't:

Maybe the left wing news is getting a taste of its own medicine and finding its not to their liking... finally. Now I know Trump isn't everyone's favourite and his twitter fingers need to be cut off but pretending that the media hasn't:

    - outright lied again and again

    - manipulated videos (even during the election) to completely skew reality

    - say some absolutely terrible things about Trump and his family (even the young children)

    - report every action, no matter how beneficial to the country, as a Hitler-esque Orwellian nightmare.

No wonder Trump or his administration pushes back. I wonder what each if us would do in the same situation.

Acostas grand standing is sad. CNN, buzz feed, NYT (barf) etc are extremely biased, half fake news (ridiculous amount of retractions proves this), borderline anti white racism is just insanity.

Any person with a brain can figure out that trumps an a-hole we don't need to be lied to fig that out.
