Not only will Amazon control and hold the world’s most valuable astronomical data (not related to blue origin at all I’m sure), but how the technology created can apply to their other earthbound industries is fascinating.

Mark my words, these are the beginnings of a century long bet by Amazon on dominating the space industry.

  • I guess it makes sense that after Amazon does everything they can on earth that they’ll look towards the universe :)

  • Smart move by Amazon. On the one hand, it's a big business for them, but on the other, it's a big bet that shows they can handle hybrid cloud approaches (remote and in house cloud), a vertical that has eluded them and which Microsoft is mining for good. The AI part is a plus but not the biggest drive if you ask me.

  • Fascinating! I look forward to seeing more from this.

It is mind-boggling to think that this technology could be later applied to crime prevention.
