  • Ok, but what about charges for murder?

I am sorry, you can’t tell me the excuse that was given for this incident in her defense is holding up.

It took so much backlash to get to this point, and even still, she was just charged with manslaughter? If this were your average citizen who shot and killed a person within said person’s apartment for being an intruder, murder charges wouldn’t even be up for questioning - it’d be inevitable. I understand people’s hesitance when it comes to this situation. It appears to have been just a tragic mistake, an accident, but it was something that could’ve easily been avoided had she been trained properly

I understand people’s hesitance when it comes to this situation. It appears to have been just a tragic mistake, an accident, but it was something that could’ve easily been avoided had she been trained properly and not taught to grab her gun immediately - especially when she’s outside of an apartment that turns out to not even be hers.

I don’t know if I’m supposed to praise Dallas PD or not. I’m disappointed with the time it took them to even accept this situation for what it was and what it shouldn’t have been.

It should never have taken this much time, backlash, and media attention to get them to do the right thing. The biggest issues we're facing with the police isn't just racism and male aggression - it's the fact that military style training has lead to a troop mentality and so they'll never do the right thing if it means going against one of their own. Make no mistake, the police in this country see the population in terms of 'them' and 'us' and this will continue to escalate.
