  • I hope this winner is some great story of somebody that uses it for good. If you hit a billion dollar lottery I think giving back should be something on the radar to pay back that much luck.

Winning large sums in the lottery ruins lives from everything I read.

Here is a radical idea: how about 1000 winning tickets for $1 million each.

I would take care of a lot of people and would enjoy being generous. Then, God willing, travel.

  • I hate gambling, but when these things get up above $600 mil or so, I usually break down and buy a couple tickets. Which I did Tuesday, and again today. It’s kind of fun, I suppose, to daydream about winning, but I really don’t know what I’d do with the money. It’s just too much. I’d set up my family and relatives, and then probably just give most of it away to good causes. Maybe set up some kind of foundation.

Then I’d just sit back and relax. Watch TV all day long. Sleep till noon. Eat Doritos.

  • A lottery winner beats unimaginable odds, yet, many find themselves doing full circle. Wealth is not easy to manage, and if you aren’t used to the opulence of a gold hairbrush, put the money in a trust and live off of the interest. It would be like hitting the lottery every year, which is all about the time value of money.

  • I hope someone who needs it, wins.

I do find it puzzling though that people are will to go, wait in line, buy a jackpot ticket and pray for a win versus actually getting out to vote. Priorities anyone?

  • This would make many peoples lives much easier .... it's amazing how much good I could do

Voluntary taxation! Running a lottery is a dirty business. So sleezy, it’s illegal for anyone but the state to do it! I live in NC and we were one of the last states to resort to a lottery (around 2000). To sell it, the politicians guaranteed all the profits would go toward education. You would think the education budget would be greatly expanded. But I didn’t see any increase in spending on education and every year the teachers are asking for a raise (nc has one of the lowest teacher salaires in

You would think the education budget would be greatly expanded. But I didn’t see any increase in spending on education and every year the teachers are asking for a raise (nc has one of the lowest teacher salaires in the nation). I’ve got this sneaking suspicion they took away the normal budget for education when they added the proceeds from the lottery in, thus kept the entire expenditure about what it was before. We do have several great state run colleges in this area but our high school and grade school programs could really use some of the dollars they were supposed to get. I hope there is adequate oversight for all state sponsored lotteries because it is a business which provides an environment rich for the mismanagement of funds.

  • Got my ticket. 🤞🏻🤞🏻

A billion dollars if won by at least one thousand people would give so many people a chance at moving forward with their lives maybe a new beginning, when only one person wins, what would you do with all that Money???
