  • Strongly disagree. Along with Gritty, Candy Corn may be Philadelphia's worst invention. Back in the 19th Century, I'm sure it was a marvel. But now we have peanut butter cups and M&Ms.

  • I get super excited about Halloween every year—and not just because it's time to don my Duck Dynasty costume again. It's mostly because Candy Corn season has finally arrived! (I get the same fluttery feeling with Easter and Peeps.)

After inhaling about two handfuls, the novelty wears off. But those first bites are a real high point for me. Most people think Candy Corn is straight up sugar flavor, but as the piece points out, it's more complex than that. And now that I know the interesting history behind the (I hadn't fully realized how much of the candy on the market is really a derivative of the same thing), I'll appreciate it even more.

  • It’s awesome. Had a full jar of it on the counter two days ago, now the jar sits empty. But the season is not over. There will be replenishments.

You can disagree. After all, everyone has to be wrong about something.

One should acknowledge and appreciate diversity in candy. It makes life richer. And

  • Sorry, I am not a fan. And I love most candy. I do understand that many love Candy Corn for Halloween, as many consumers adore Peeps at Easter. I am not a lover of Candy Corn, nor do I see the obsession that some folks experience. Philadelphia has given us much better food. Give me a Philly cheesesteak

  • It WAS great...before it was made with high fructose corn syrup.

  • It strikes me as very American of us to have such strong opinions about this insignificant of a thing. #blessed 🤣

  • I wouldn’t eat it between Nov 1 and Oct 20, but for ten days a year, candy corn fulfills sole long lost psychological need for comfort.

  • Candy corn is my favourite, much to the chagrin of everyone I know. However, my new teeth hate it! So sad.

  • Candy corn has always been good .don't take it or degrade it

  • I’ll admit it: have always loved candy corn 🤷🏻‍♂️
