It’s about time! Juul has been described as the “iPhone of e-cigarettes” and is recreating a resurgence in teens addicted to nicotine. Not only does one Juul nicotine cartridge has about as much nicotine as a pack of cigarettes, its vapor contains cancer-causing chemicals such as diacetyl which causes popcorn lung, a scarring of tiny air sacs in the lungs, and leads to coughing, wheezing, and shortness of breath. I agree that Juul and other e-cigarettes are a “wolf in sheep’s clothing.”

  • It's nice to see FDA be proactive. Big Tobacco got so big that it was a struggle to regulate them. Let's learn before this becomes Big Vape, esp as tobacco companies look to reposition themselves.

  • Good. These products are basically designed just for young people and they have zero benefit to society. Nicely done, FDA.

  • The tobacco lobby is alive and well. When in the hell did the FDA start caring about what’s good for teens to the point where are they are forcing companies to pull products off shelves?

  • Way too common to see high school kids with these things. Until data comes back on long-term health outcomes, I will remain uncomfortable with that

  • If kids want something, they will get their hands on it. These products have helped millions kick the smoking habit. Oh, that chemical that causes popcorn lung ain’t in reputable products. Yes, it is not harmless to use these products, but it is better by far, than traditional cigarettes.

  • Tobacco companies will be right there to catch these kids, with a comforting hug and a pack of smokes. 🤬🤬🤬

  • Interesting to see how smoking is evolving.

  • Does it really contain "diacetal" I only know of 3 ingredients: propylene glycol, vegetable glycerin, and flavorings. And if some chooses, it may also have nicotine

  • I’m just going to throw this out there because I don’t see enough people mentioning it, but cigarettes, and alcohol are also illegal to teens yet they seem to get their hands on it just fine, and I don’t see anyone criticizing Pinnacle for their Cotten candy flavored vodka.

    Let’s follow the money because

Let’s follow the money because let’s face it, Big Tobacco are the players who stand to win from this FDA regulation.

If it’s the kids your concerned about, then maybe crack down on the stores who illegally sell the product.
