  • They're not wrong, they're just misdiagnosing. The underlying problem is digestive bacteria. We have destroyed our bacterial floral with processed foods, antibiotics, and hormones.

My guess is that this is the primary cause of the surge in food sensitivities.

  • Here's the exec summary. "Anyone who thinks they’re not able to handle a particular food for whatever reason should ask their doctor to get to the bottom of it, and not self-diagnose."

  • In a world where there now exists "Anti-Vaxxers", a revival in the idea of a "flat Earth" and a president whose default position is to lie to his gullible supporters, are we honestly shocked that the number of homeschooled hypochondriacs has reached epic proportions? Gwyneth Paltrow has women steaming

Gwyneth Paltrow has women steaming their vaginas, for God's sake!

  • Fascinating to learn that some people simply suffer from an “intolerance” to said foods vs an allergy. Take it that staying away from such foods for their perceived allergies may lead to further hereditary effects on future generations. If that were the case, could it be argued that not knowing the difference could be harmful.

  • I don’t find this surprising at all. So much easily accessible information folks are more inclined to make assumptions and/or self-diagnose.

  • “This lack of diagnosis is concerning, because food allergies aren’t something you want to be in the dark about.”

The lack of proper education on diet & healthcare is what’s “concerning”. Millions of Americans are “in the dark”, and about a lot more than just their food allergies.

  • Most people just saying they have an allergy when they have any reaction to a food. Outside of shellfish and nuts true food allergies are not really that common. You may have a sensitivity to a food but that does not mean you are allergic.

  • Unsurprising. Most people in the developed world are taught that there is something wrong with them at birth. Doctors and medicine have gone from the elevated status of educated men and women who you believe to a second opinion after the internet's diagnosis.
