    The economic crisis was the catalyst for the Federal Government to make Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley banks which permitted greater access to short term funding than pure investment banks. If I were in Goldman Sachs position I would be very careful in selecting firms to buy or merge with since they may bring dangers that Goldman has not had to face. I suspect they have to grow but the leader they likely need is someone like Jamie Dimon,JPM or Mike Corbat, Citigroup, who worked in various different sectors of financial services before he ran a bank.
