  • On the bright side, we found the one group of people who would have preferred a complete government shutdown to just a partial one :/

  • A sad reality of this administration is that it does more to dismantle human rights than it does to protect them. As a Board and Executive Committee Member of the LGBT Center, and a decent human being, I denounce the SCOTUS ruling. #TransRightsAreHumanRights

  • This is abhorrent. I guess being pro-life ends once you’re born anything other than a straight, white male. This isn’t a political issue, this is an issue of basic human rights, and the fact that we have a “president” that has maligned nearly every aspect of the LGBTQ community and people support him

This isn’t a political issue, this is an issue of basic human rights, and the fact that we have a “president” that has maligned nearly every aspect of the LGBTQ community and people support him is even more repulsive.

These are human beings who want to defend this country with their lives, because just like all of the other individuals in the armed forces, they love this country and want to protect its citizens.

But then again, why the hell should they be defending a country that doesn’t even support their existence?

  • The question of transgenders 8n the military is really a bigger issue then civil right. Their are multiple considerations that are not racist or phobic. Well I agree anyone of any gender should certainly be allowed to serve their country there are other mainline issues besides Bias againstLGBT. For example

The question of transgenders 8n the military is really a bigger issue then civil right. Their are multiple considerations that are not racist or phobic. Well I agree anyone of any gender should certainly be allowed to serve their country there are other mainline issues besides Bias againstLGBT. For example if a transgender enters the military as a male wanting to become female there’s the issue of creating special living style situations to accommodate, there’s also the issue of transgender‘s in the military wanting to have gender reassignment on The militaries money and on the military time. Such Surgeries are both costly and have a fairly long recovery time if you have a Male transitioning to female, you deal with females not wanting to use group restroom and shower facilities with a biological male. And the same applies for female to male. That being the case there is the expectation that you will be treated based on your physical gender regardless of how you view yourself to be. The military has a set physical standard for men and women that is partially based on gender therefore you cannot expect a male transgender to only be required to meet female criteria and same applies for women the difference of course is in the physical genealogy. Therefore not everything is an issue of race or bigotry but a question of how to deal with this new Situation in today society. I believe it can be dealt with but there must be some determinations and ground rules laid out.

  • If it’s about expense, or concerns that people will enter the military just to get gender confirmation surgery and then leave, there are easier fixes than a ban. How about just making a tiered insurance plan that only covers certain elective surgeries after you have been in the military 5 years?

  • Need more elaboration.

  • If they were to give me some kind of real reason to ban them I might think. Ok well. This or that sounds reasonable or hell no their full of it. But I cant think of a single VALID reason.

  • They say there are issues involving higher healthcare cost. Does anyone know what that issue is about?
