  • The GND is the gift that keeps giving (to the Republicans). Too bad it derailed a more sensible discussion on how to slow climate change.

  • There is nothing new... it’s red & blue posturing, nothing really about green and certainly no chance of a deal...

  • Excellent. Senators will have to go on the record about the deal. Perfect fodder for the progressive leftwing Dems for future campaigns. Climate change action is bound to be an increasingly important political battle ground. And come what may, there's only one stance that can eventually prevail. It's

Excellent. Senators will have to go on the record about the deal. Perfect fodder for the progressive leftwing Dems for future campaigns. Climate change action is bound to be an increasingly important political battle ground. And come what may, there's only one stance that can eventually prevail. It's not the one that loads of Reps will soon put on the record.

  • As described, it’s a rather cagey move by Senate Republicans. It will force, to varying degrees, the Democrats not only to go on the record about this initiative. It will also possibly lead them to articulate their thoughts, as individual candidates, regarding further details for this aspirational legislation

As described, it’s a rather cagey move by Senate Republicans. It will force, to varying degrees, the Democrats not only to go on the record about this initiative. It will also possibly lead them to articulate their thoughts, as individual candidates, regarding further details for this aspirational legislation. This could be problematic, because there are few details regarding the Green New Deal at present. Legislative details the Democrats need time to decide upon.

As there is yet consensus to what that legislation should functionally look like, it can present fissures publicly within the Democratic Party. Few things are more useful than making ones opponents appear locked in an intraparty struggle.

I believe the new term for climate change is “extreme weather “. Thousand of scientists feed information to the UN and an elite few interpret and publish. Their career and wealth depend on the Green industry. The latest report is that there is a one degree rise in global, temperature which signals the end of the world as we know it.

In the 1970’s when we were first introduced to global warming we were told that by the year 2000 the east coast would be underwater. We would be able to tie our boats to the top of the Chrysler building. Of course that did not happen, nor did all the other catastrophic events that were predicted in the ensuing years.

These climate change scientists run into the same problem that meteorologists run into - too many variables. They have a hard time predicting the weather or climate two weeks in advance - a year or even ten years is out of the question, especially based on a one degree temperature rise. They don’t have a decent climate model.

It is a great money-making proposition though, if you follow the money and see who has become insanely wealthy on these predictions and doomsday threats.

There is a new gang ready and primed to cash in on the fear, and this vote will let you know who they are.

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. Nordhaus, who just won the Nobel prize for his works on economics and climate change said by his work what they are proposing isn’t even possible. He actually said it would be worse than doing nothing at all. Yet, you have people acting as if this would make some significant difference.
