  • This does not bode well for our country. Sure, the Chinese person should not have been able to make the penetration she achieved but I’m not certain that there isn’t some type of camouflage happening. Fire subordinates for dereliction of duty but reaching up to the top of the chain seethes with other pursuits.

  • I feel like commentary on how bizarre and mortifying Trump’s presidential behavior is is just superfluous at this point. We all know he’s overstepping every day and destroying democracy in favor of authoritarianism. Anyone who disagrees with him is fired.

We need to talk about why this is happening

We need to talk about why this is happening. Presidential popularity and a trend of presidential overreach, including the instantiation of the scope of the executive bureaucracy, have tricked Trump and much of the public into believing the role of the president is the CEO of the US. Let’s make this clear: the role of the executive should be inferior to the power of the legislative body. They are mere diplomats, spokespersons for the nation and heads of state. Executors of the laws, subject to the laws (that they’re not allowed to create). Right now, this constitutional order of affairs is not the case. This is terrifying.

  • Quite the quote from an unnamed official to CNN, "There is a near-systematic purge happening at the nation's second-largest national security agency."

  • It is unfortunate that we do not have an unbiased media in this country who will investigate and report the untainted fact on what is genuinely going on. Any article written by any outlet is suspect, because they have chosen a side.

  • This is scary. If there is no directors, chiefs, heads, who is going to help manage and govern the country?

  • Some folks need to learn some basic civics before posting ridiculous legal opinions that serve only to clarify their lack of understanding of how the Republic functions...

  • The purge of diverse opinion and healthy debate that serves as checks against power continues with bolder and more blatant action

  • Awww. Did he make the troll mad?

  • Hey it's CNN & anonymous sources. They have to do something to replace Mueller. I'll believe it when there is confirmation & attribution or it happens. I trust CNN as much as I do my Facebook junk. I need confirmation & details before I waste the energy to get irate.

  • Oi -- chaos continues!

  • I think Trump’s reliance on indefinite acting officials that don’t need Senate confirmation is alarming. He is staffing so much of his admin with unqualified political hacks that he knows won’t make it through, and often are there to undermine the agencies standing and authority.

  • Disregarding any allegations have political bias, the facts and statistics show a thinning of officials. A very unique method of reducing government... Hopefully these positions, as they do require human intervention, are not going to be replaced by automation, much less become a concentration of power.

  • @Craig Bohn and it's not as though if an unbiased outlet did exist that it would not have a side chosen for it. The narrative in this country is now, if you are critical of the President then you are biased Democrat/socialist propaganda and fake-news. If you are supportive of the President, a blind

@Craig Bohn and it's not as though if an unbiased outlet did exist that it would not have a side chosen for it. The narrative in this country is now, if you are critical of the President then you are biased Democrat/socialist propaganda and fake-news. If you are supportive of the President, a blind, authoritarian/dictatorship sheep.

Both sides lack credibility because they release articles that are unsubstantiated, and called out constantly for inaccuracies.

Despite this, I believe when if a news outlet purely reported factual news, they would be assigned one side or the other because of how polarized our country had become. Peoples inability to think logically and accept whatever rhetoric that most closely aligns with their own beliefs while denouncing/excusing any other information will always win out.

Case-in-point while following @realdonaldTrump on Twitter you can clearly see the polarized stance of our nation. You have people who actually believe every word he writes as facts an believe that what he says is the only truth. This is not only logically ignorant (as it has been filmed on live TV and proven to be factually inaccurate) but frightening to see how complacent people are to not think for themselves.

I take a middle ground with my politics I don't believe either party has the end all answers, but you have people in this country that strictly vote one side or the other because they do strongly believe in ONE single issue. This is ludicrous to me.

  • @terryferster Troll

  • It seems to me this is what he campaigned on...drain the swamp.

  • Doing exactly what America hired him to do.
