    Globalization is real and can’t be reversed, true. But that doesn’t mean that at least a degree of economic self-sufficiency isn’t desirable for such a huge country as the US, and it definitely doesn’t mean the US should just roll over and let China take whatever they want from us.

  • Don’t be fooled—Trump knows his China tariffs are paid by US consumers (after all, much of his clothing line is made there). But that’s not a great pitch from a messaging perspective, so he says China pays.

    The question is whether US voters know that. And how much they care come November 2020.
