Positive to finally see investment starting to flow into SexTech. One of the big issues with the extension of digital technologies into our lives has been the way it seems to leave a feeling of isolation and coldness, even when connecting us. Tech innovations have lacked a deep human aspect for too long, intimacy and presence, warmth and sensuality are badly missing.

This is reinforced by using only our eyes, ears and hands, forgetting about all our other senses, our skin, our touch, our feel. This is good to see a tech sub-sector evolving around enable and encouraging deeper intimacy - using the living body as the interface. These are tools to use to enhance our sensuality, some to help maintain partnerships across time and space, to enable good feelings - just what we need more of in the world! Additionally it’s interesting to note that there are many women founders in the Sex Tech sector, some named in the article, a body-led approach to tech from women.

Investment for these companies has been v slow - maybe partly due to the lack of ability for women to be investors themselves after often years of no pay (during child care years) or low pay (gender pay gap across 30 years of ones career does so add up) so check out SxTech coming up in Berlin early July and go and invest - it’s socially impactful and is all about wellness creation !
