In historical perspective, every major change China made was all from outside pressure first! That in turn trigger internal policy shift in a good way. A more healthy society China is the better the world is.

What it has demonstrated to the markets as well as the media is that the world is held at Bay or even captive by the decision making of a smaller and more concentrated number of individuals. The more whimsical and volatile the actions the greater the concentration. That would suggest a far greater need for checks and balances nor a really stronger governance framework, but that should not come at the cost of individual rights.

  • Now that the 2020 election is on, the tariffs will get pushed in the background. If Wall Street drops, Trump has zero chance of re-election.

  • Well, another field day for the wall street and stock markets around the world. Trump is happy again but we don't know for how long. 🙄

  • Truce is not an ending no new tariffs doesn't mean no tariffs. Before celebrating there needs to be real change noy a temporary cease fire.

  • Have to wonder when the corporates of all sides (EU included, what with Brexit and all) will decide they had enough, buy some uninhabited islands somewhere to rack production there in a technocratic government they’ll base on their own boards of directors, and just export to everyone else at their own tariffs.

  • Our President is a master negotiator with America’s best interest in mind. All the more reason to re-elect him in 2020.
