  • LOL. Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are solutions in search of a problem. From a technical perspective, there is literally nothing it can do that cannot be accomplished just as easily by traditional databases and technologies.

Blockchain is nothing more than a data structure. Nothing more, nothing less. It's interesting, but hardly revolutionary.

And from an economic standpoint, there is nothing bitcoin can do that cannot be accomplished by existing financial mechanisms. I have asked this question many times, and never been given an answer that suggests it is the the best answer to any problem but one:

"But, it isn't blockchain! And blockchain is really cool!"

  • Or... we could just return to a modern version of Bretton Woods where instead of gold supply the ceiling for currency issuance is energy supply.

Bitcoin is volatile in its convertibility against fiat money. If the world is to change from its current reserve currency, why keep it in another fiat currency

Bitcoin is volatile in its convertibility against fiat money. If the world is to change from its current reserve currency, why keep it in another fiat currency that is subject to manipulation?

  • It seems that bitcoin is an answer looking for a question and its supporters would like to provide it with validity.

  • Without recognition, it’s pure sentiment

  • The global conversation on cryptocurrency is gaining momentum. It is here to stay. Get in while the getting is good, or..... just get left behind.

  • Bitcoin is hardly answer to an unknown question. Govt regulation and laws purposely thwart adoption to keep people buying their flavor of water. Just like how stadiums are all bought up by Budweiser, and keep out the craft beer. Forced adoption. "He who controls the spice, controls the universe."

Someone above says, "Without recognition, it’s pure sentiment". I think she meant to say, " without control, it's pure hope". Thing is, once upon a time there can be an idea so brilliant it outplays control. In chess it is called "perpetual check".

  • It is a potential model but not yet.
