  • They tested this in Ontario and it was a great success. Then dumbass Ford won the election and scrapped it, screwing over all the participants. There was a test in Manitoba in the 70’s that was also a success. The studies are already out there.

  • The concept has never been the issue, the problem is how is it going to be financed. However there is actually longer-term strategic issues to think about with a Ubi program, how to keep people from going into atrophy and creating those exact nightmare dystopias that come through science fiction about artificial intelligence.

  • Yang’s UBI would cost $3 trillion. Per year. Would the vagrants living on Venice Beach get it? It won’t afford them an apartment and they still won’t get a job. Add that to $100 billion+ per year to educate illegals and their kids. Add in their free healthcare. Add free college education and healthcare

Don’t forget there will be little to no immigration control or enforcement as even more immigrants with little education or skills clamor to come here for all these free benefits, with no high income job prospects to provide much taxable income.
