Yes, it’s true...The vast majority of influencers/microinfluencers DO NOT really influence anyone or anything. I found this to be the case with influencers who have over several million followers to several hundred thousand followers to under 50,000 followers. I’ve personally been disappointed SO MANY times that when someone tries to impress me with their follower numbers now, I run as fast as I can the opposite way.

I still vividly recall the moment when we were trying to collaborate with a microinfluencer and Instagram had just done something and Imstagrammers lost thousands of followers in one day. This particular microinfluencer lost almost 35% of followers.

  • Quality over quantity always here, and to be truly influential is to be a good parent/person/partner/teacher as I see it. • Please, please, may everyone in media come to believe this. Writers and creatives are squeezed in so many ways and paid such little money. I have never dedicated the small amount of time I have toward gaining followers. And I’ve never judged my success based on the number of my followers. I’ve simply

I have never dedicated the small amount of time I have toward gaining followers. And I’ve never judged my success based on the number of my followers. I’ve simply done the work. I hope to be valued for that.
