  • “As the young people of an earlier time led their parents and grandparents and an unwilling nation to moral improvement during the Civil Rights Movement of the 1950s and 60s, these children are leading us.” Amazing go see #NeverAgain & #MarchForOurLives trending, something tells me this is just the beginning.

  • Irony is when the becoming of a lobbying group precipitates the thing you became a lobbying group to prevent.

Whenever I witness this kind of affirmative self-destruction - like the NRA could have totally just kept doing what they were doing, and not seek to transform the 2nd amendment into something it’s not - I have to wonder (a) why were the internal instigators - there are only ever a few - so radical, (b) how could they not see such a foreseeable outcome, (c) was this then always the intention

I know what will come out of this will not be an end to the NRA or second amendment, but it never had to be so contentious in the first place. It just seems like the lobby-tization of the NRA facilitated an enormous waste of time, energy, money, and life. Would it not have been better if they’d just remained a rifle club?

Tl;dr I don’t think there ever would’ve been much threat to gun ownership but for the NRA and others so ultra-politicizing it. I think there still isn’t,and we can go full ahead with gun control without any risk.

  • These teens have laid bare the NRA’s greatest asset: our apathy and what we have been willing to accept. Kudos to them. My family will be joining them in DC on March 20th.

  • Good summary of what has been happening in the past week and why it’s important.

  • Feeling frustrated about the state of democratic institutions and politics in America? Well, my sense is that these kids are just the beginning. Americans are activated and movements such as these will spawn many more heathy and robust bottoms up political waves.
