How in the world does this guy push a woman off a cliff in Greece and walk free in less than 2 years? Was her dad not important enough to do something about it? This is not ok.

  • What an odd case. Measuring a guys teeth like counting rings on a tree to determine his age is new to me. Hussein Khavari found a way to use/abuse the EU system and then managed to hide from the police for 7 weeks during such an aggressive manhunt. Not only was he vicious but also extremely smart! If

Hussein Khavari found a way to use/abuse the EU system and then managed to hide from the police for 7 weeks during such an aggressive manhunt. Not only was he vicious but also extremely smart! If he is ever released I feel like we could all be in danger. Maybe it’s time that Germany rethinks Angela Merkel’s open door refugee policy?

  • This monster snatched a 19 year-old off her bike then raped and drowned her & has the nerve to blame it on being drunk and high! This monster snatched a 19 year-old off her bike then raped and drowned her & has the nerve to blame it on being drunk and high! The Greek victim he tried to kill 4 years earlier in Corfu was pushed off a cliff and plunged 25 feet down. Greek authorities said she only survived because, as a keen amateur mountain climber, she knew how to protect her head during the plunge.

The Corfu attack came after he had been drinking in a bar and yet somehow he managed to convince people he was a minor and got placed in youth detention. Now we find out he may be as old as mid-30's. This manages to make the Greek legal system and German immigration both look completely foolish at the same time. A

  • A life sentence in German law means 15 years behind bars, with no chance of parole and the possibility of a "security detention" afterwards if the convict is still deemed to pose a threat to society. So hopefully he will never truly be a free man again.

  • I can't believe the number of lies/misdirections in this story (by the accused).

There is no excuse, even being under the influence, to murder and/or rape. A conscience does not completely dissolve in alcohol or drugs entirely; it is hazy and impaired, but not gone. His "logic" of "but then I saw she

There is no excuse, even being under the influence, to murder and/or rape. A conscience does not completely dissolve in alcohol or drugs entirely; it is hazy and impaired, but not gone. His "logic" of "but then I saw she was pretty so I wanted to have sex with her" is inexcusable.

His history clearly shows violent tendencies and some sort of issue with power/control, perhaps over women specifically. Holding his hand over her mouth maybe suggests he enjoyed holding/witholding her breathe (ability to live). His point A-point B without second thought of "shes pretty=sex" suggests entitlenent. These point towards urges and tendencies which mean he is likely to repeat and ecen escalate.

Even if his father had died, this does NOT change his actions. Personally I feel 15 years is far too short a term for a proven liar, a potential psychopath/sociopath as suggested by faked remorse who is so likely to not only repeat offend but continue to take advantage of and abuse the systens he enters.

  • "Presiding judge Kathrin Schenk condemned Khavari's extreme 'lack of empathy' as she handed down the maximum sentence of life in prison, which under German law means 15 years behind bars." Do they not know that there is a 71% chance violent criminals to re-offend according to the 2005 report: Recidivism

  • It’s sad that Khavari was indeed an immigrant. This case will just add fuel to the fire in the debate. He’s obviously a violent individual who would’ve committed a crime regardless of where he was in the world. The fact that he lied about his age is alarming. He’s obviously a violent individual who would’ve committed a crime regardless of where he was in the world. The fact that he lied about his age is alarming. There have been other cases of adults lying & saying they were teenagers. It’s usually a denial in aging & fear of failure. This is a complex man. I believe the murder & rape was premeditated and did not occur as he stated.

  • It's a reasonable sentancing. I don't like what I think this story will be used as, fodder for anti-immigration politics . still, I'm glad Germany has shown they will not take actions like this lightly

  • this man sounds like a calculated psychopath. He claims he was too intoxicated to control himself, yet he seems to recall every detail of the attack and murder, which leads me to believe he is claiming anything he can to avoid the maximum sentence.

15 years will release him while he is still young

15 years will release him while he is still young enough to offend again. The article does mention he will be assessed as a threat before being released but that has not helped in other cases where killers have been released and moved on to kill again, Shirley Jane Turner, for example. She murdered her ex-boyfriend, was released from prison and then went on to murder her son.

  • It’s absolutely appalling when people try to use drugs and alcohol as an excuse. Just another example of toxic masculinity.

Also incredibly interesting the concept of measuring someone’s teeth to see how old they are. I didn’t know this was something that was possible considering everyone has different

In the end I’m glad he’s going to be locked up for life because he’s a monster.

  • The problem with immigration is the lack of support the industry receives in terms of clearance, credentialing, etc. In the US, the majority of immigrants come to work to better their lives, but are still saddled with the inferior thought that they are all "bad guys". His issues in Greece only further

The problem with immigration is the lack of support the industry receives in terms of clearance, credentialing, etc. In the US, the majority of immigrants come to work to better their lives, but are still saddled with the inferior thought that they are all "bad guys". His issues in Greece only further point out how easily immigration can fail when not properly processed. A man in his mid 30's who was supposed to serve 15 years in Greece passes himself off as a teen. It saddens me that such an important process and flow of life like immigration is embroiled with such negativity and psycopathy.

Regarding the influence of hashish, Jeffrey Dahmer was always drunk when he committed his murders. Does that not make him a serial killer?

  • This is the first time I’ve heard of testing teeth for the age. But it sounds like it’s not very accurate if his father said he was 5 years older than the test said. This person is a monster! Why is life in prison 15 years? I’ll never understand that since the victim is gonna, why should the murderer get a “second chance”.
