  • I think this article can be expanded upon fears other than fear of physical things - fear of taking a certain action (e.g., asking for a raise, speaking in public, asking someone out) which can be as debilitating as other types of fears. These fears, in my mind, are as worrisome as the physical phobias

  • What about fear within a mental illness perspective? Does anyone or organization address fear from this unique perspective? Let's begin -- is it real or unreal?

  • I fear a lot of things myself. I fear riding in public transportations and riding something I’m not in control of. There’s always this nagging feeling that the bus or plane or ship might encounter an accident. I fear going to an unknown place. There’s always these thoughts going through my head like

I fear a lot of things myself. I fear riding in public transportations and riding something I’m not in control of. There’s always this nagging feeling that the bus or plane or ship might encounter an accident. I fear going to an unknown place. There’s always these thoughts going through my head like what if I get robbed or something. My friends are always telling me to relax but with all the negative news on TV and social media it just makes it even harder to calm down. I think my problem is overthinking. And I think that we have these fears not because we fear for our safety but we subconsciously fear what we’re leaving behind if something is to happen to us like our families and loved ones.

  • I've always taken Fear has more than just 4 words that describes it. You know, every single day, we fear something would happen -could happen to us, someone close to us or even something in the future. I laughed seriously hearing we are primitive and too evolved for our own selves, it's not offensive

I've always taken Fear has more than just 4 words that describes it. You know, every single day, we fear something would happen -could happen to us, someone close to us or even something in the future. I laughed seriously hearing we are primitive and too evolved for our own selves, it's not offensive too by the way. Fear is a part of us that makes us human. It's a phenomenon we've never understood and has been passed down to generations. It's not hereditary but it's everywhere. If we don't have fear, we probably would be stiff and unyielding. Fear makes us flexible and situations around us are the most important thing we should be careful about; not only clowns, coffee bubbles, diabetes.

  • what are you afraid of? why? what are you going to do about it? fear can be a very good thing or totally debilitating.
