  • It's not about the flag or being patriotic. The protests serve the NFL by distracting from bigger problems, from domestic abuse to CTE to their treatment of cheerleaders. I'm glad I'm not watching anymore, but I also am glad to see players using the platform they have in an attempt to draw attention

Well, here we go again! Why are we even bothering to worry about a group of people who have no idea what our Country’s Flag really represents? These “athletes” who are fortunate enough to be able to perform at a high level & get paid millions of dollars choose to bite the hands of the very people who “feed” them, without knowing crap about the history of this country or the real sacrifices people of all races and colors have made to provide them the opportunities they are now benefiting from.

Anyone who knows history understands that there is NO country in the world - EVER - that has sacrificed 600,000 men (black & white, thank you) to uphold its “Idea” of “All men are created equal “ in just 1 war - not including the World Wars upholding the concept of Freedom. Do we have problems, of course. Name me any country that doesn’t exhibit prejudice to some degree.

The problem is we have a culture that values the comments of LeBron James & Colin Kapernik instead of MLK, Clarence Thomas, Thomas Sowell, or know the historical successes of people like Booker T. Washington, Stephen Smith, Clara Brown, or Annie Malone.

Hell, these “athletes” probably can’t even list the 3 branches of gov’t! Who gives a shit if they don’t stand for our flag & country??!! I can tell you I won’t be watching any game again this season, so kneel your asses off!

This “kneeling “ issue doesn’t serve the NFL @ all - it only serves the individual protestors interests in their “attempt” to protest against both the police & now President Trump.

If NFL players & their association are really interested in doing something about police brutality, then why don’t they invest their time and money in the most affected communities like Chicago, St. Louis, Cincinnati? How about meeting with black youth groups, Church ministries, & local Police authorities to create an environment of reconciliation? THAT is how these “athletes” should use their platform to facilitate meaningful change in this conversation. But no, the only thing these egotistical dumb ass millionaires know how to do is take a knee & pass the buck on to someone else - oh, but penalize their puny, pathetic behavior & the Player’s Association will take their financial battles all the way to the Supreme Court if they have to - for THAT endeavor, they will spend their time & money!

  • Are these players even worried at all? As long as you feed them with the right amount in their pockets, I guess they shouldn't have to worry about protocols anymore. Kneeling while reciting the national anthem shouldn't be much of an issue; if they are comfortable doing that, fine and if they aren't

  • It’s as simple as this; if you want to send a message then use your own money and produce a PSA. An athlete’s right to free speech does not include using your employer’s venue as a soapbox.
