Good morning, Quartz readers!
Here’s what you need to know

Sales of Johnson & Johnson’s cancer drug Darzalex are soaring. The multiple myeloma treatment could even overtake J&J’s best-selling drug Stelara, which is used for autoimmune conditions.
Boeing’s Washington state workers are teeing up a strike. The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers held a rally in Seattle yesterday.
Trump has an enemy in the wind
Former U.S. president and Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump talked Diet Coke, green energy, taxes, and foreign policy in a recent interview with Bloomberg Businessweek about his views on the economy. One thing remains clear: Trump is still a dedicated foe of wind energy.
Trump has pledged to scrap offshore wind projects on “day one.” He also (falsely) claimed that windmills cause cancer and are “driving whales crazy.”
Wind power recently became a bigger source of electricity in the U.S. than coal. Wind and solar energy projects — which Trump thinks are too expensive — received 94% of the $15.6 billion doled out through federal renewable electricity-related subsidies in 2022. Quartz’s Will Gavin writes of Trump’s thoughts on wind power and more.
And while the energy source may not actually be driving whales crazy, it has recently caused some problems for Massachusetts beachgoers.

How much Capital One will commit to community development and philanthropy — only if it’s allowed to buy Discover.
The U.S. Federal Reserve and Office of the Comptroller of the Currency must first approve the $35 billion merger of the two financial services giants. Capital One is trying to prove it’ll do good if the deal is done. But its promise to lend to low-income consumers and small businesses might be hollow, one advocate warned. Quartz’s Rocio Fabbro has the story.
