Earlier this year, the Chinese government cancelled the construction of 103 coal plants and announced it would invest $361 billion in renewable energy.

But those 700 projects show that Chinese energy firms continue to build, despite its country’s plans.

Their coal plants would most probably undermine the goal of limiting climate change set in the Paris accord.

To make things worse, some of those 700 coal plants will be built abroad, and some of them in countries that currently use very little coal, like Egypt and Pakistan.
