That amount far exceeds the $20,000 that politicians and the American government spent with Trump firms between 2013 and 2014.

$9.2 million went to Tag Air, the Trump-owned firm that operates Trump’s Boeing 757 airplane (which comes with gold-plated seat belts), and $2.4 million went to Trump Tower.

The rest went to a range of other firms linked to Trump, including hotels and resorts in Miami, Washington, and Las Vegas; the Mar-a-Lago club; and even a company making Trump-branded water bottles.

Most of the money came from Trump’s campaign, but government bodies—like the Defense Department and the Secret Service—and other Republican campaigns have also spent hundreds of thousands of dollars.
