Before you work out from home

As lockdowns and social distancing continue, to differing degrees, around the world, more and more people are working out from home. That has fueled a race within the fitness industry to capture new customers. It has also left many people struggling with long days sitting at a makeshift home office, and caused others to reevaluate just how much activity they need to stay healthy. In this reading list for Quartz members, we go back to basics and explore what makes exercise so important and which types are most effective.
