  • Reading this poorly written article makes me wonder who owns ‘The Charlotte Observer’.

This rhetoric of hate and separation is exactly what the oligarchs want. Divide and conquer. Seems to be working.

Trump wants to pick a fight about terrorism and use the old republican play book. Love of country means you can’t criticize the country.

Trump is the new Hitler. His spread of fear and hate to power is ample evidence. Who can stand up against the fear and hate in people’s hearts when a sitting

Trump is the new Hitler. His spread of fear and hate to power is ample evidence. Who can stand up against the fear and hate in people’s hearts when a sitting president says it’s okay, you’re being patriotic?

Seems like the Democratic front runners are all too scared to say what they really mean. In the pockets of their masters. It’s not looking too good America.

  • Americans, like children playing with food while while other children go hungry in their own country. A sense of humor, great, but not the right tone at this time and place.

It would awesome to get real roasted carrots with a French Dip at Arby’s... but I’m sure it wouldn’t be executed correctly. Eat real food... wether it’s meat or vegetables, not processed “products” made to look and taste like something it’s not.

  • Yes... this is true humility. He hasn’t done anything yet. Please continue to strive and get better Mr. G. Your actions, integrity and steadfastness speak to the millions of people out there that don’t have a voice. #🙏 #🔥 #🇺🇸

  • ”Just as it does with human diets, misinformation can turn into popular belief with disconcerting ease.”

As a chef and food and beverage director, the issue of diet and health are intertwined more deeply than we realize. Great article.

  • I’m glad to see communities doing the job of protecting its citizens when the larger governments fail to do so.

E-cigarettes are just another profit scheme for corporations at the expensive of the health and progress of people and the environment. Where do all those plastic disposable cartridges go?

  • “Billionaire environmental activist Tom Steyer”

Key words are “environmental activist”... I hope he stirs the pot and puts the environment on the forefront of every topic, from the economy, international relations, science, energy, infrastructure, education, conservation and healthcare.

Perhaps it will wake up the rest of the Democratic front runners that this issue affects us all.

  • It’s a rare and sweet moment where we can all be proud about a win. Long live sport. Now let’s see how they move forward from here. A group of beautiful and talented women with a lot of star power and let’s not forget political/economic power on a global scale. Do they use it for some good or flush it down the toilet? #🇺🇸

  • There are many problems with this article, starting with the title. “Ted Cruz schools Colin Kaepernick”. Washington Post, are you writing a newspaper article or taking trash at a bar?

Kaepernick is making the point that even to this day, the innocent blood of minority’s and especially black Americans are being spilled, lawfully and unlawfully. It’s still a war zone for many Americans, everyday, every moment, every interaction.

Ted Cruz is implying “slavery” has ended because of the civil war

Ted Cruz is implying “slavery” has ended because of the civil war and we should all pat ourselves on ours backs for being such an awesome nation. This is the hypocrisy Kaepernick is trying to expose. Many nations didn’t have to go to war with themselves to end slavery. Think about that.

Mr. Cruz, as a good politician would do, you should be lauding and praising a black football player for reading history and finding relevant “context”, but instead you belittle him in public. Same old story.

You just sit there, as a representative, voted in by the people (supposedly), in your cushy air conditioned chair, “tweeting” or rather debating about slavery, with a black man. As if you knew his suffering, as if you knew him outside of filtered sound bites.

Look at yourself. With a last name Cruz, you spat about American justice? You dare speak on behalf of slaves? Do you watch the news? Do I have to spell it out for you?

You’re not listening... to anyone or anything. You’re just looking for a reason to spout about your preconceived notions spoon fed to you by your corporate overlords. I believe you call it tweeting. How ridiculous.

Please for the love of this nation and for your own ancestry, open your eyes and ears. Slavery still exists. Albeit, now it has become an economic one but it just as brutal, just as bloody and just as dangerous... that’s Kaepernick’s point. #🇺🇸

Now stop glorifying yourself and do something for God’s sake... and please shave, appearances matter. Even Kaepernick knows that.
