  • I can remember when Amazon first came out. Every flocked to their market and used it for everything. The reason Amazon is so unique is because Amazon challenges all markets simultaneously. It is not simply for items that you can't find in a department store. Amazon carries everything from books to food to clothing. The product variety that Amazon carries is not seen anywhere else except maybe Bed Bath & Beyond, and that's pushing it. Amazon is super convenient because you can order anything you want

  • Wow, Google cuts down the cost of storage plans around the same time Amazon Prime membership increased by 20%. That's not a coincidence Google, we can see you. Honestly it was an intelligent decision on Google's part because it's a great market strategy. It gives them more of a platform and subsequently more revinue. I think Google's storage plans are reasonably priced. Their storage plans simply do not compare to Apple's storage option. On that note, it it rare to get an impending end of storage

  • The reason it keeps coming back is because the environment does not change. If the environment were to change that Ebola was cultivated in, it's prevalence would be altered. Also, not enough time has passed for evolutionary mechanisms to come in to play. I would hypothesize that a mechanism similar to the one that exists with Malaria. Studies show that people who live in areas where Malaria is prevalent have developed sickle cell anemia as an immune defense. The disease loves healthy red blood cells

However, with sickle cell anemia, the red blood cells are shaped like half moons and so the bacteria isn't fed as well so it doesn't survive. However, it would take a period of time for evolutionary mechanisms to be born.

  • No. Just no. You know what creeps women out? Creeps! Maybe if men recognized that they are the problems we could better society. Do not blame other people for their problems when you could be the issue. Take responsibility, learn, and grow. I don't know why that is such a hard concept to adopt. Do not blame the surroundings of these women for their cautiousness. They aren't crazy or paranoid, they are in touch with their senses. It sounds like what this office needs is some sexual harassment education

It sounds like what this office needs is some sexual harassment education, not privacy. That is the only point where women will feel comfortable again; when men are educated about their aggression and toxic masculinity.

  • I think this is a fantastic idea. I love Verizon and I don't want to switch to another carrier if I don't have to. This will solve so many problems. If only it was offered for other phones besides iPhones. Honestly other phone carriers do not compare to Verizon in terms of service. However, the cost is pretty ridiculous. No one wants to pay hundreds of dollars for a service that someone else is getting for a fraction of the price. Of course quality is important. This is a great avenue for Verizon to pursue and I expect this plan to take off.

  • In no means am I against advancing technology, especially in the name of science. However, this might be taking it a little too far. Of course technology is made to enhance our human experience, but it could also inhibit it if we're not careful. Everything seems to be automated. It's to the point now that if I call my pharmacy to refill a prescription, I don't have to talk to a single soul if I don't want to. It somehow recognizes my phone number and then prescriptions associated with that phone

I also recognize that having a robot take your responsibilities could make humanity less responsible and more lazy, comparable to the world in Wall-E. Soon, robots will be living our lives for us because living will be too inconvenient.

  • Initially I felt disapproval for this project but I couldn't put my finger on why. Suddenly, it came to me. Paying people for their genome is supporting the notion of capitalism withing medicine. Health Care is already so monopolized, I think we need to back off the monetary value, not encourage it. The world would be a much better place if medicine was accessible. Instead, there are people dying in first world countries because they can't afford their medicine. I am someone who can't afford their

Instead, there are people dying in first world countries because they can't afford their medicine. I am someone who can't afford their medicine. I'm a college student living in an apartment, I work three jobs, and yet I don't have 1300 dollar for my medicine. In conclusion, people should want to give their DNA like a donation to science.

  • My first response was outrage, and then the realization that the government has DNA stored already. All prisoners have DNA on record. People alive during the 40's and 50's had their DNA stolen from them by hospitals performing experiments. This would make keep ancestry records super easy. However, there is potential for disaster. Would HIPPA be rewritten? Who would have access to the DNA? What tests would be performed? Who would have access to the test results? Maybe there would be ethical issues

Maybe there would be ethical issues, but this DNA could be beneficial. Scientists could use it to create more personalized treatment plans tailored to your immune system.

  • I have mixed feelings about this article, as a patient and healthcare provider. As someone who is familiar with the poverty line, it enrages me how expensive treatment is when it is not insured. However, as a medical student, I need my college loans paid. So maybe the problem doesn't start with the health Care system, but the educational system instead. If tuition, room, board, and meal plans weren't so expensive, health care wouldn't be expensive either. Unfortunately, there is a capitalist side

Unfortunately, there is a capitalist side that exists in health care which I personally wish would seek to exist. It will be taxing but reform is needed.

  • One thing that never ceases to astround me is NASA-both as an organization and how it handles society. What I don't understand is why we are quiet and get pushed around all the time. For what, a few articles to be written a year? Why don't they share their activities with the general public, it's not like there is a race going on anymore. Plus going to Mars is a big move on their part. They are accomplishing the unimaginable. NASA needs to be more publicized so the youth have someone to model after

NASA will provide opportunities to at risk youth who otherwise would be in jail.
