  • It definitely seems like a niche market, but if they can successfully disrupt the shady energy drink market then more power to them! It’s something I (an averagely health conscious person) would be willing to try and invest in sometimes if it does its job. Like kombucha or coconut water, I can see this

It’s something I (an averagely health conscious person) would be willing to try and invest in sometimes if it does its job. Like kombucha or coconut water, I can see this catching on as a health trend and hopefully maintaining its steam long enough to make the company profitable. They must have a lot of faith in matcha!

Though he’s in charge and is “always” doing “reports,” my coworkers and I plan and execute everything that has to do with the center’s day to day activities. Wherever there’s a gap, one of us will step up to fill it, knowing that’s what’s needed and what’s best for the center. It results in a very uneven workload, that’s completely invisible to anyone outside our team dynamic. Frustrating and ultimately unproductive.

It’s a touchy topic because most people assume the advancement of AI means their replacement. However it happens, this is the outcome I hope for in the mess of AI discussions and conflicting

  • I don’t know why it’s offensive to contemplate the fact that white people did not invent and make famous these types of food. They are obviously not traditionally European features of cuisine, as the article states. They are influenced by cultures who integrated against their will. Maybe that’s unpleasant

I don’t know why it’s offensive to contemplate the fact that white people did not invent and make famous these types of food. They are obviously not traditionally European features of cuisine, as the article states. They are influenced by cultures who integrated against their will. Maybe that’s unpleasant for some people to think about, but how fragile are our family histories if we can’t bear the idea that Granny might have been cooking out of someone else’s heritage. These early influences did become “Southern” culture. It’s okay to own that if you’re from the South. Just don’t feel like you have to take credit for it. No forgetting or white-washing necessary. Let’s be grateful we know what jambalaya is!

  • I’m so glad this is a conversation! My mom actually brought this up to me, instead of the other way around. The high demand is such a good thing. I’m glad this company can profit at the same time that they are spreading more environmentally healthy practices. Even making paper creates waste and uses

I’m so glad this is a conversation! My mom actually brought this up to me, instead of the other way around. The high demand is such a good thing. I’m glad this company can profit at the same time that they are spreading more environmentally healthy practices. Even making paper creates waste and uses a lot of water, but it is such a large step forward. I think this is the preferred alternative, if we HAVE to use single use items at all...

  • The idea of Facebook being so large and borderless an entity that it requires a constitution is pretty ridiculous. Anybody else in favor of just shutting it down altogether so we don’t have to keep reading about it and debating it? I agree with the notion that they shouldn’t have the ability to determine

Anybody else in favor of just shutting it down altogether so we don’t have to keep reading about it and debating it? I agree with the notion that they shouldn’t have the ability to determine what’s truth. But choosing to not shut down harmful narratives like Holocaust denial shows a lack of backbone, in my opinion. Draw the line SOMEWHERE.

  • Good for them! I mean, a little step considering how terrible the sneaker industry is about human rights and all that. At least some environmental priorities are in order? Here’s to hoping their endeavors make other manufacturers eager to follow suit, maybe someday even eliminating the use of virgin

Here’s to hoping their endeavors make other manufacturers eager to follow suit, maybe someday even eliminating the use of virgin plastic for shoes. A new normal would be good

  • It’s amazing how much mystery surrounds what little we know about the space beyond our planet. Articles like this could be easy to scroll past, but the sheer magnitude of what has been discovered blows my mind. The fact that there are moons that MAY have been discovered but can’t be identified for sure

Articles like this could be easy to scroll past, but the sheer magnitude of what has been discovered blows my mind. The fact that there are moons that MAY have been discovered but can’t be identified for sure, or for years... I’m so glad we live in an age where we get to hear about the crazy things that might be out there.

  • Interesting. I definitely see how low-light conditions would help keep distractions and pressures at bay. However, when I run without music I get VERY distracted by my labored breathing and quickly start berating myself for lack of stamina or attempting to discipline by going harder and pushing past

Interesting. I definitely see how low-light conditions would help keep distractions and pressures at bay. However, when I run without music I get VERY distracted by my labored breathing and quickly start berating myself for lack of stamina or attempting to discipline by going harder and pushing past the struggle point. Music (worship music specifically) helps me to focus on something outside of myself during exercise. This is especially helpful because I am not good at running! If I’m focused on something besides my own body movement or progress, I am less self-conscious and actually able to persist with more success.
