Trump is running America like his Wall Street counterparts ran the American economy into the ground in 2008, covering up terrible policies and actions with skewed statistics and bold claims. Eventually either the reality will be overwhelming and undeniable that America has taken a complete turn for the worst or he will be required to reconcile with the poor and marginalized of this country. Unfortunately I fear the former will happen first.
A small example of compromise (allowing the players that wish to not stand for the anthem to remain in the locker room). It would be incredible to see entire teams spark protest to remain inside the locker room during the anthem.
Modern journalism is repeatedly showing the ugly reality that the beneficiaries of a capitalist system built on keeping others down are still thriving in 21st Century America.
We call ourselves one of the most advanced democracies in the world, but those that run our government consistently refuse to listen to the voice of its people. Self interest and greed have plagued the upper levels of our society to the point that the wants of few have overwhelmed the needs of many.
Unsettling to see something like this. Social media has become such a staple in many lives, here we see how easily it can be manipulated to sow division. It appears we’re all more vulnerable than we think.
It is for sure interesting, a lot of these are decent policies that would’ve been valuable to put in place. Maybe not life changing, but valuable. Unfortunately the expectation that Trump would renege on those promises isn’t necessarily a surprise.
