My Austrian husband frequently expresses surprise over the willingness of those of us in the US to stand in line, especially for food and coffee, and then to stand around longer, waiting for the order to be ready. He says Austria is far more civilized, and hardly anyone ever stands in lines -instead, they sit and are waited on. I’m curious as to what other Austrians think of the queues in the US.
And once you take into account how much it cost to store these items over the years (storage containers, storage shelves, square footage of your home for storage space or monthly storage fees, and cost to move these items), in nearly all cases it’s a net loss.
