I am getting so tired of the constant whining by kids and the adults giving in so their little feelings don't get hurt. Kids have always been lazy and complained about having to do things but they were always pushed and made to learn to deal with being uncomfortable. Everything is unfair and likely always will be. Instead of teaching them to be strong, everything is geared toward making them comfortable. It's hot outside, as it always has been in our area, so school is cancelled because there's no air conditioning and the kids are suddenly so delicate they can no longer be expected to attend school in those conditions. One kid outperformed everyone in a high school and was named valedictorian; now everyone who makes the honor roll is called valedictorian because it's unfair for one person to be recognized for their hard work and achievements. 10th graders get a coloring sheet for extra credit because they're about to fail a Spanish class and completing that gives them a B for the year. This is not kindergarten! Where is the extra credit that actually makes them think and helps them learn? Sorry, you won't get a coloring sheet at your quarterly review as an adult. Things are far beyond out of hand at this point.

We are raising a future of lazy, incompetent adults who will never develop the basic life skills necessary to make it in the real world outside of their phones and computers. They don't want to speak publicly because they've become so comfortable hiding behind usernames to express whatever thoughts come to mind, many of which should be kept to oneself out of decency, that they are terrified of actually saying anything out of their own face while someone is looking back at them. Saving their feelings in one moment right now is doing them a great disservice for their futures.
