  • Police are public servants. Their work , except for ongoing cases and investigations, should be accessible to the public.

  • And this idea of government charity and the poor and disabled who somehow become undeserving of anything but church handouts leaves us 33 rd among nations that use progressive taxation to keep themselves way ahead of us in so many areas, financially, societally, and livability. Crow all you like about the benefits of our neoliberal capitalism, but you won’t see any Norwegians beating down the door to live here.

  • Capitalism has become a dirty word because a country run by so-called businessmen have co-opted the country, depressed wages, failed to take a long view of economic and social well-being, decided becoming wealthy at the expense of others, and, in short, been terrible stewards of the environment. Who wants to raise kids in an environment of corruption in government propped up by a small group of billionaires who think the only thing worth living for is rapacious wealth gathering at the expense of

Who wants to raise kids in an environment of corruption in government propped up by a small group of billionaires who think the only thing worth living for is rapacious wealth gathering at the expense of everything else and using the hammer of an increasingly autocratic government to get their way?

  • The world is so interconnected, backing out of international agreements such as the EU just may not be a good idea. Just like asserting American exception is ultimately would leave us dangling out on a limb by ourselves. Too easy to be ganged up on if you don’t get in and carve out your place within the polity.

  • I think that the media’s obsession with overblowing not-very-important events and issues, while, at the same time not recognizing and accurately reporting the state of difficulties that effect us all, trivializes public needs in favor of hyperventilating over personality based news such as Kardashian nonsense or Smollett stupidity.

  • Perhaps a solid state wide effort to improve existing rail infrastructure and rolling stock would be a wiser choice. California needs rail improvement but an entirely new system seems to be prohibitively expensive.

  • Come on now. This is not new. Seventh day Adventists and others have been making vegeburgers since I don’t know when. A well prepared textured protein burger tastes just fine.

  • Gee. How many experts were needed to run that data? The movie 9 to 5 had it right. Companies should have gotten the message way before. Accommodate parents and children and you just might, just might, have more loyal and productive employees. That is, if you really care about the people who work for you. But, then vulture capitalism only hires 1099 people because “associates” has a nicer ring to it and they are so easy to “right-to-work-State “fire” them at will. That is the accurate meaning of the euphemism “right-to-work” as I see it.

  • Two levels of society, the wealthy and wage slaves. Are you comfortable with that, or would you like to see a more equitable society where people pay their fair share to provide goods and services everyone shares? Now we have lots of billionaires but no money for infrastructure, and healthcare that leads to bankruptcy. Great country here where people live in their cars, while a very few buy more yachts and mansions they can live in at once and whine that the people who complain are lazy. Just what

Just what do the Uber wealthy think revolutions of the past were caused by?

  • Why should anybody be surprised? It is no secret that our president uses bankruptcy and stiffing his contractors, vendors, and employees as a business model. Did any really believe he wouldn’t try a disastrous idea like this on the nation? Come on!! Get real. For him the entire US is ripe for these stunts. Hoping otherwise is living in fairytales. If you were fooled, wake up! This man is not our friend.
