This looks like Tinder's strategy to beat the rising competition in India where data speeds are low and pricing still relatively higher. Makes sense given that India's online dating space has become a lot more crowded with Bumble launching in December (with the Priyanka Chopra bang) and Chinese app Tantan rising in popularity, besides the original threat from local players.
