  • No specifics on the poll you're touting? It includes Pete Buttigieg and Kamala Harris and not Andrew Yang despite him beating both of them in several recent polls?

Of course it will. Just ask Germany, France, Denmark, Sweden and a half dozen other nations. Wealth taxes cause the flight of the rich and their capital. The wealthy do not willingly submit to an audit of all their assets if they do decide to stay. The proposed wealth taxes make American citizenship cost millions yearly, which the rich probably do not think its worth it. It does not work. All those countries repealed their wealth taxes.

Andrew Yang pointed this out to Elizabeth Warren during the last democratic primary debate. What does work that those countries do have is a valued added tax (VAT) which is just a tax on sales including business to business transactions that do not touch consumers and are not taxed by our current sales taxes. The VAT is how many of these countries generate the revenue to pay for their healthcare and social safety nets.

This is the 5 point breakdown:

Build a sustainable economy by transitioning away from fossil fuels to renewable energy, upgrading our infrastructure, and improving the way we farm and use land. Public financing options will allow individuals to make the right decisions for their families.

Build a sustainable world. The United States, throughout history, has led the world in times of crisis. We’re the most entrepreneurial country in the history of the world. It’s time to activate the American imagination and work ethic to provide the innovation and technology that will power the rest of the world.

Move our people to higher ground. Natural disasters and other effects of climate change are already causing damage and death. We need to adapt our country to this new reality.

Reverse the damage we’ve done. Research needs to be done on removing carbon from our atmosphere, cooling the planet and rejuvenating ecosystems.

Hold future administrations accountable. We need to pass a constitutional amendment that creates a duty on the federal and state governments to be stewards for the environment.

  • The media tried very hard to have him replicate the rise of Donald Trump, being not politically correct and cursing and being loud, but the content they put out is irksome and ingenuine, as well as his policy platform being sub par

Amazon is causing the retail apocalypse: 30% of malls and main street stores are set to close in the next 4 years. Being a retail clerk is the most common job in this country. The average retail worker is a 39 year old woman. Amazon has paid 3% taxes over their entire lifetime, $0 last year. This article points out rural areas buy less and are poorer, which makes sense given that most job opportunities are in cities and jobs such as retail are disappearing in rural areas.

Amazon is most definitely exacerbating inequality. A value added tax would capture tax revenue from their sales revenue and is unavoidable. They have this in every developed country except the US. A dividend of tax revenue sent to every adult in the US is the most effective way to combat inequality, as Alaska has shown for the past 37 years. #AndrewYang2020

  • When GDP was created over 100 years ago, the creator said:

    1. This should never be used a measurement of national well being or happiness

    2. We should include unpaid work such as raising children

    3. Defense spending should not be included because it adds no value

We have betrayed everything the creator

We have betrayed everything the creator Simon Kuznets said about GDP.

The main problem is the goal of our capitalism is to maximize GDP as a nation and maximize profit as a company. Hurricanes are actually great for GDP because they destroy everything and necessitate rebuilding everything.

    How fucked is that?

What we need to do is factor in things like environmental quality, life expectancy, health and well being, mental health, and other things that are important to us into our economic analysis. What does this look like in practice? Companies bottom lines will now be affected by how much they pollute, you will see their behavior change very quickly to protect their bottom line. Companies who demonstrably prove they have improved our well being will be rewarded.

This is the plaform of Andrew Yang.

What Yang calls "The New American Scorecard" will incentivize the private sector to act in our best interest

He is also aligned with the CEO of JP Morgan in declaring a "negative income tax", congruent to Yang's freedom dividend. This is the new capitalism. It is capitalism where income does not start at zero. It is capitalism where your basic needs are guarenteed.

If you've been ignoring the US presidential race or have scoffed at Yang and doubt he can win, realize he is now 6th in the polls and even 4th in some polls. Doing better than Trump and Bill Clinton at this point in their election cycles.

  • Why did Trump spend the entire election cycle in 2016 saying that unemployment was a fake number because it excludes so many people and now a of a sudden its real?

He was right the first time.

Unemploment only accounts for "the workforce" which is the smallest it has been in decades, 63.2% of the population, known as the "labor force participation rate", It is a much more accurate number because it includes everyone. Pretty much the same as when Obama was in office. Meaning 37.8% of the country is supported by the labor of the other 63.2% of the country, it explains alot. We're at about the same level as Costa Rica, Ecuador, and the Dominican Republic.

Unemployment is "3.5%" but 20% of prime age working men are unemployed...

This unemployment figure is completely misleading and fake news, Ttump was right the first time. It has been used for decades and we have been misled for decades.

  • Home ecosystem and now a mobile ecosystem? Would probably work really well for them
