Maybe some people don’t know this but the Senators were elected by the state government not the citizens of the states, they directly represented the elected representatives of each state... that was changed over 100 years ago. Now it’s a popular vote. There’s only only two elected positions that aren’t popular vote (Democratic vote) and that’s the President and the vice-President... They are in effect elected by the states representatives through the electoral college.. the number of electors are based on population of each state so the the more populous states do have more votes for the president than the less populous states. The states demanded equal representation that’s why each state has 2 senators giving each state equal power in the Senate only. The electoral college along with the Senate is Federalism preserved.. Remove one or both and individual states rights and power as designed to create the USA is largely diminished. People speak of checks and balances in the federal govt’, as a great thing.. The greatest checks and balances on govt’ power are the states themselves... remove the Electoral college and the long time, though eroded, balance of our govt’ will spiral out of control while concentrations of power will be created in but a few states whose interests will take precedence over other states... Which is exactly what the founders intended to keep from happening with the Electoral college and Senate. If you believe the country is divided now...doing away with the EC will magnify that division geometrically, and I promise you, you are not prepared.

  • I agree with some of the comments here, the ones saying democrats need to pick a side, unfortunately their choices are Democracy or Socialism, There is already a Socialist party in in The US. The socialists joining the Democrat party do so because the Socialist party isn’t taken seriously and think they can infiltrate an already quasi socialist democrat party to be taken seriously. These New Democratic Socialists have nothing to do with democracy...they have no respect for private property and need

These fools are the enemy within, Democrats you need to pick your side.

  • Trump fired Comey because he wouldn’t issue a statement that President Trump wasn’t being investigated after Comey told the Pres. he wasn’t being investigated... the President asked him on numerous occasions to tell the public he himself wasn’t the target of an investigation.. Comey wouldn’t do it so Trump fired him. This then got the fact that Trump wasn’t under investigation out to the public which Comey DID NOT want the American public to believe.. Trump was not under investigation therefore it

Trump was not under investigation therefore it doesn’t meet requirements of obstruction of justice, The president has every right to fire his subordinates for any reason or no reason.
