I doubt most millenials truly want a socialist government. I think that the growing problems our society is manifesting, such as growing debt, are what push millennials to believe in such systems. Moreover, judging by some comments, their opinion seems to be looked down upon by previous generations, that seem to think they are snowflakes, and that they are ruining America. This only pushes them to political extremes such as socialism, in the hope that it will solve their problems. This also excludes them from healthy political conversations and debates, pushing them to stay with people that agree with them. As a Canadian, I do believe that a lot of socialist principles can be integrated in the current capitalist system. I think a lot of others think the same way, which explains the results of this poll.
