    This is unconstitutional on its face. States do not have the right to add extra requirements for federal office elections. California is free to do whatever they wish (within equal protection limits) for statewide races, but not for federal ones.

    Just as an example, what if California passed legislation saying "A candidate must be 40 years old to appear on the ballot for presidential races" - would that pass muster? Of course not. Neither will this.

    Would anyone be surprised if Google flipped some secret master switch that restored their own access to these iOS apps and prevented Apple from ever disabling them again? :)

    Yet most schools won't extend their deadlines in circumstances where they really should. My stepson is a legal immigrant who has made straight A's in two years of college education here in Miami. He lives with my wife and I, and there was a possibility that we were going to move to Atlanta. I checked with a couple of local universities up there because the move was going to be pretty sudden, and none of them were willing to bypass any of their application deadlines to allow him to begin school in

We didn't move, but if we had, he would have wasted a semester, if not more, getting himself in sync with a school's application deadline.

    I'm confused. Do they not want to do it because it would cost too much, as this article says, or does the Commissioner not have the authority to order this, as another article says today?
