So for the consumer, instead of paying $50 for a bundle of channels just for a few shows, they can pay the same amount to subscribe to the shows themselves; X shows for Y amount of dollars/month and consumers get to pick and choose across networks. I don't even know if that would be feasible though given the rising costs of content production.
