My brother-in-law is a teacher in FL. From where I’m sitting he’s had too many charter schools close underneath him. FL has gone all-in for charter schools, and too many are failing, leaving kids & parents in the lurch. Educating our children should not be a for profit venture.

Medical care as it stands now has been designed to benefit the insurance industry. Insurance companies override doctors now, nix prescriptions or procedures as they like. Since when should an insurance administrator or even a doctor who works for the company who has never seen me be able to override my doctor when she writes a prsecription?

  • I had (still have, actually, but she’s moved) a good friend and coworker whose abilities were at least equal to mine. We went our separate ways, but stayed in touch. She called me once, asking for advice on what salary to ask for. She told me what she was going to ask for and I said no, ask for more

I had (still have, actually, but she’s moved) a good friend and coworker whose abilities were at least equal to mine. We went our separate ways, but stayed in touch. She called me once, asking for advice on what salary to ask for. She told me what she was going to ask for and I said no, ask for more. You’e worth it, I told her. I told her what I was getting at the time. She was flabbergasted! I told her to ask for more and settle for what I was getting.

It’s all confidence. She lacked the confidence. I did the best I could to boost hers.
