Things Reporter
We’re seeking a reporter to help us commit acts of journalism with code. You would be part of the growing Quartz Things team, which is chiefly responsible for our data-driven and visual journalism, from charts to interactive graphics to news apps. “Thing” is simply our catchall term for stories that break free of the traditional article format to convey information in ways that work better on the web. Developing those new storytelling methods—and empowering others to use them, as well—is the challenge of this job.

Technology

Web Applications Developer
We are seeking a talented and experienced Web Applications Developer to join our growing technology team. Developers at Quartz may be called upon to work on any part of the site, rather than adhering to the usual labels of “front-end” and “back-end”. You should be comfortable adding a module to our Backbone.js application, building a custom WordPress plugin, or writing a hardware-accelerated CSS transition. Most of all, you should love creating things and take great personal pride in building beautiful, functional, and highly performant interfaces for external and internal users.

Ad Operations Manager
The Ad Operations Manager will play a critical role within our sophisticated digital strategy team, while also working hand-in-hand with our fast-paced advertising sales team to manage business and to deliver outstanding and innovative campaigns to our clients. We seek a digital sales planner to join our fast paced advertising sales team, focusing on managing digital campaigns and first-class client communication. We seek an Events Marketing Manager to join a small but fast-paced events team with a scrappy attitude and a love for the creative process. He/she will play an integral role in developing and executing marketing strategies, promotions, and programs for Quartz events. The position combines core big idea/platform creation, program execution, and audience development direction.  The ideal candidate will have five years previous marketing experience and will play a critical role as Quartz events expand in both velocity and across the globe.
