The US Congress met today to certify the results of November’s presidential election. But the proceedings were interrupted when Trump supporters, falsely claiming that he won the election, stormed the building, and eventually the House chamber. Congress and vice president Mike Pence, who was overseeing the proceedings, were quickly evacuated. One person has reportedly been shot. This is a developing story.
